Addressing the opening ceremony, Nguyen Pham Duy Trang, secretary of the Central Executive Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, stressed that the event would help young people of the two countries to understand each other and build a bright future together.
She hoped that all 30 delegates of both nations would strive to achieve goals such as innovative connection and sustainable development.
In his remarks, David Chua, CEO of the Singapore National Youth Council (NYC), expressed his belief that through the programme new solutions and initiatives would be widely applied and deployed, thereby further contributing to the development of a healthy and prosperous community in the current context.
A total of 15 Vietnamese and 15 Singaporeans are beginning an eight-day journey across the two countries starting on August 19.
In Singapore they will visit the Parliament House, the Google Office, and the Vidacity – Sustainability Innovation Hub and Living Lab.
Youth leaders will then travel across Hanoi, Nam Dinh, and Hai Phong in Vietnam, enjoying tours around the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, the headquarters of Mobifone Telecommunications Corporation and Viettel Group, the Foreign Trade University, and the Vietnam - Singapore Industrial Park (VSIP) in Hai Phong.
