Vietnam to host first international 3D mapping art programme - 1

For the first time in Vietnam, an international 3D Mapping art programme will be held with the participation of art troupes from France, Belgium, and Singapore, according to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports.

Organised by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports in collaboration with partners, the programme aims to transform the facade of the iconic Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee headquarters, which is the southern city’s architectural landmark with cultural and heritage values, into a vibrant and emotional projection stage.

The special art show will take place on the evenings of April 19, 26, 29, and 30, featuring teams from Vietnam, Singapore, Belgium, and France.

Top 3D mapping artists, who have made an impact at major global events across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, will gather in Vietnam, creating a fusion of high-level 3D visual art, modern orchestral music, and contemporary folk melodies.

The entire facade of the iconic Ho Chi Minh City building will be “dressed” in vibrant colours, moving lights, sound, and shapes, transforming into a dynamic, emotional stage with rich cultural depth.

Each evening will present a complete light film, complemented by a carefully choreographed performance of music and dance, resembling an outdoor theater production. The modern 3D mapping technology, combined with surround sound effects, kinetic lighting, and a multi-layered stage, will illuminate the architectural structure like a visual history book.

Held in a public space and open to all visitors free of charge, the programme aims to bring art closer to the public. It also serves as an opportunity for Ho Chi Minh City to connect with other creative cities worldwide, asserting its position as a modern city that retains its cultural depth, entering a new era of powerful development through the convergence of art, technology, and national spirit, said the organisers.

The event is part of a series of activities to mark the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - 2025).

It is anticipated to attract approximately 10,000 on-site spectators, with millions more expected to tune in via television, livestreams, and online platforms.
