On the evening of April 6, thousands of people from across the country gathered in Viet Tri City, Phu Tho Province, to witness a spectacular fireworks display in celebration of the Hung Kings' Commemoration Day. Many arrived early, bringing mats and setting up tents around Van Lang Park Lake to secure prime viewing spots.

With clear skies and mild weather, large crowds began assembling hours before the event, hoping to enjoy the rare high-altitude fireworks show held in their hometown.

Huu Nghia and his family drove from Hanoi to Phu Tho in the morning. After visiting the Hung Kings' Temple, they headed to Van Lang Park in the evening, where they pitched a tent so the children could rest and play while waiting for the fireworks to begin.
"We’ve been out since morning, so everyone is quite tired. All the guesthouses are fully booked, and since we plan to drive back to Hanoi tonight, we just needed a place for the kids to rest before watching the fireworks," Nghia explained.

This is one of the few occasions each year when residents of Viet Tri get to enjoy a large-scale fireworks show in their own city.

The 15-minute high-altitude fireworks display captivated the audience, drawing cheers and admiration throughout.

Many attendees raised their phones skyward to capture the dazzling moments as the fireworks lit up the night sky.

Tran Thao Vi seized the opportunity to take photos by the lakeside, with the fireworks as a stunning backdrop. "The show was truly mesmerising. The weather was beautiful too—unlike last year, it didn’t rain, so everything felt more vibrant. There were more people this year as well, making the whole experience livelier," she shared.

Children, in particular, were thrilled by the brilliant bursts of colour in the sky.

One child even climbed a tree to find a better view, as the lakefront had already filled to capacity.

By 21:45, the fireworks display concluded amid cheers and excitement from the thousands gathered around Van Lang Park Lake.
