Since late August 2025 Ha Tinh has endured repeated natural disasters, including two strong storms, Kajiki and Bualoi, which caused major economic losses for the province.

More than two months after storm Bualoi, many facilities and restaurants in the Thien Cam tourism area of Thien Cam Commune have still not been repaired.

A local resident, 48-year-old Truong, said two violent storms blew the roof off his family’s restaurant and damaged many belongings, causing losses of about VND 100 million (USD 4,200).

“I’ve had to hire workers to fix it. Some other restaurant owners are discouraged; with the storms and the end of the tourist season, they haven’t repaired anything yet,” he said.

Along several roads and across the beach, many trees have been uprooted or left dried out and lifeless, offering little hope of recovery.

Floods in late October and early November also washed large amounts of rubbish downstream, leaving Thien Cam beach inundated with debris such as dry branches, foam, water hyacinth and household waste.

Large tree stumps were also washed ashore and now lie scattered along the sea embankment.

Thien Cam, once known for its unspoilt landscape, crescent-shaped white-sand beach and harmonious blend of sea, mountains and forest, is now blanketed in debris after successive disasters.

During the tourist season Thien Cam’s coastal resources generate significant income for local authorities and residents, but during the stormy months the area suffers heavy impacts.
