The ranking, published by Brilliant Maps, places Bangkok’s primary international airport ahead of major global hubs, enhancing Thailand’s position as a leading destination for international travel and aviation connectivity.

Other airports in the top ten include Paris Charles de Gaulle, with 105 airlines; Dubai International, with 97; Istanbul, with 93; and Rome Fiumicino, with 92. Also featured are Milan Malpensa, Shanghai Pudong, Tokyo Narita, Singapore Changi, and Frankfurt.

The Thai government credits this achievement to ongoing efforts to modernise and expand the country’s airport infrastructure. Improvements at Suvarnabhumi have focused on safety, convenience, and technology upgrades, thereby strengthening airline partnerships and improving the overall passenger experience.

Suvarnabhumi has also advanced in global airport rankings, rising from 58th to 39th place. With expansion projects already underway, including increased terminal capacity and operational enhancements, the Thai government has set a target for the airport to break into the global top 20 within five years.
