Across the plateau, plum orchards in Moc Chau and neighbouring Van Ho have flowered earlier than usual, carpeting hillsides and valleys weeks ahead of the Lunar New Year and transforming the area into a popular seasonal escape.

The largest concentrations of plum trees are found in Na Ka Valley and Mu Nau Valley, where rows of white blossoms create a calm, almost storybook landscape.

Visitors say strolling through the orchards feels like stepping into a fairytale, with plum blossoms stretching beneath light blue skies and the plateau’s crisp chill adding to the sense of ease.

Local residents said favourable weather this year has brought an early and even bloom, attracting crowds.

“I came to Moc Chau for a change of pace. Being here during plum blossom season makes all the fatigue melt away, it’s beautiful and peaceful,” said Pham Ha, a visitor from Hanoi.

Most orchards are open to tourists, charging about VND 40,000 (USD 1.6) per person with no time limit. Some also sell local produce and rent ethnic costumes for photographs.

Locals recommend visiting early in the morning or late afternoon, when softer light enhances the blossoms and temperatures are more comfortable. Camping overnight is also an option, with visitors bringing their own gear or renting on site.

The orchards are about 8-10 killometres from Moc Chau town centre and can be reached by motorbike or car. Roads are narrow and congestion is common during peak periods.

For photos, light or pastel clothing, or bold red for contrast, works best, with ao dai, maxi dresses or vintage-style outfits especially popular.
