On August 13, airport representatives said the number of travellers is expected to spike sharply during the National Day holiday this year, with international arrivals reaching historic highs. On peak days, the airport could welcome nearly 44,000 international passengers, the highest daily figure ever recorded, mainly driven by overseas visitors coming to Hanoi for the National Day parade and celebrations.
Domestic traffic is also projected to rise significantly, as tens of thousands from across the country head to the capital for large-scale cultural and artistic events marking the holiday.
The busiest day is expected to see 638 flights and nearly 110,000 passengers, about 20 per cent higher than the same period in 2024.
In response, Noi Bai has put in place coordinated safety and service measures to ensure smooth operations from August 14 through September 2.
Hanoi has emerged as the most searched destination by Vietnamese travelers for the upcoming National Day holiday which will last from August 29 to September 3.
