Authorities in Binh Tay Ward opened Cho Lon Night Street on December 4 to revitalise the historic market, create a new communal space and boost tourism in the wider Cho Lon area.

The debut is expected to help the surrounding neighbourhood develop into an appealing destination that blends cultural and historical value with commercial and entertainment activities.

Stalls offer a wide variety of freshly prepared food and drinks, along with packaged goods from reputable businesses.

Traditional dishes and regional specialties from all three regions of Vietnam are showcased, giving diners a rich and diverse culinary experience.

The site also provides space for chefs, culinary experts and vendors to connect, exchange experience and share insights into cooking techniques, nutrition and food origins with visitors.

Cho Lon Night Street is not only a shopping venue but also a platform to promote regional culture, tourism and cuisine, drawing considerable attention from both domestic and international visitors.

Covering 1,510 square metres, the site features food trucks and pushcarts arranged across functional zones, with seating available for diners. It operates daily from 6 pm to midnight.

Hoa, a resident of Binh Tan Ward, said she was pleased to have a new nighttime venue. “When I heard it had opened, I brought my family to eat and explore. The food is diverse and reasonably priced,” she said.

Launching the night street during the year end festive season is expected to boost tourism in Binh Tay Ward and enrich the variety of tourism offerings in the Cho Lon area.
