The surge affirms Hue’s position as a leading destination despite severe storms and floods from September to November, including historic flooding that forced multiple monuments to temporarily close. The Visit Vietnam Year-Hue 2025 generated strong momentum, featuring four seasonal festival clusters-Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter-under the theme “Ancient Capital-New Era.” Highlights included Hue Culinary Capital Day, the Community Ao Dai Festival, music events, street arts and wellness programmes.

Hue also hosted the Miss Cosmo Vietnam 2025 final, the 14th East Asia Local and Regional Government Congress, and launched the “Ancient Capital Cyclo by Grab” service, helping stimulate demand. The city boosted tourism promotion through Culture-Tourism Week, Vietnam-Republic of Korea Culture Day, and partnerships with localities in the Republic of Korea and China to promote new air routes, such as Hue-Incheon and Hue-Shenzhen, while enhancing regional links with neighbouring localities of Quang Tri and Da Nang and outreach to European markets.

Quang Ninh Museum welcomes its one-millionth visitor

On December 12, the Quang Ninh Museum welcomed its one-millionth visitor of 2025, marking a record contribution to the province’s goal of more than 20 million visitors this year. The milestone visitor was Lionel Klotz from Canada, travelling with his wife on a Saigontourist tour. He praised the museum’s warm welcome, impressive exhibits and friendly atmosphere.

Director of the Quang Ninh Museum-Library Do Quyet Tien said 2025 saw a breakthrough in visitor numbers. The museum will continue renewing exhibitions and expanding the use of technologies such as 3D, virtual reality and digitalisation to enhance experiences.

The museum welcomes more than 1,000 visitors per day on average, with a peak of 13,400 per day in June. Revenue in the January - November period was around VND 30 billion, up 33 per cent year on year.

Designed by Spanish architect Salvador Pérez Arroyo to resemble a block of coal, the Quang Ninh Museum-Library complex has become a cultural symbol since its completion in October 2013 with investment exceeding 900 billion VND. It features outdoor displays of large artefacts and a three-storey indoor exhibition depicting Quang Ninh’s natural and cultural heritage, including a 28-tonne anthracite block recognised as Vietnam’s largest.

According to the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Quang Ninh welcomed more than 19.8 million visitors in the first 11 months of 2025, generating about VND 52.6 trillion in tourism revenue, up 10 per cent and 21 per cent year-on-year, respectively.
