Mui Ne named among world’s trending destinations for 2026

Mui Ne has been listed among the world’s top trending destinations for 2026, recognised for its distinctive landscapes, relaxed atmosphere and appeal for personalised travel experiences.

The ranking comes from Booking.com’s 10th Travel Predictions report, released on April 8, which describes 2026 as “the era of you”, a shift towards travel shaped by individual interests and lifestyles.

Mui Ne was selected among the global top 10 destinations for its ability to offer tailored experiences, ranging from leisure retreats to adventure activities.

The list is based on global search and booking data alongside surveys of tens of thousands of travellers, highlighting destinations that combine natural beauty, local culture and exploration opportunities.

Branavan Aruljothi, country manager for Vietnam at Booking.com, said Mui Ne’s inclusion reflects rising demand for customised travel. He noted that the destination offers a wide range of activities, allowing visitors to design trips aligned with their personal preferences.

Domestically, Mui Ne ranked ninth among the most searched destinations by Vietnamese travellers, up one place from the previous year.

Its growing popularity is driven by a mix of adventure sports, expansive sand dunes and beachfront resorts. Accommodation trends show increasing demand for apartments, guesthouses and serviced residences alongside traditional hotels.

National Geographic has previously highlighted Mui Ne’s transformation from a quiet fishing village into a leading marine sports hub in Southeast Asia, thanks to its long coastline, steady winds and unique terrain suited to activities such as kitesurfing.

The area first gained international attention in 1995 during a total solar eclipse that attracted thousands of visitors. Since then, tourism has expanded rapidly, turning Mui Ne into a major coastal resort destination.

Today, the Mui Ne national tourism area includes more than 600 accommodation facilities with nearly 18,000 rooms, many located along the prime coastal strip. Nguyen Dinh Chieu Street, stretching about eight kilometres, hosts 53 resorts and is one of Vietnam’s most active resort corridors.

Beyond its natural appeal, Mui Ne offers cultural experiences such as traditional fishing villages, seafood markets and the Van Thuy Tu relic site, known for preserving thousands of whale skeletons.
