The airport will close from 12 am on March 4 until 11.59 pm on August 25, 2026 to allow contractors to carry out upgrades to the runway and taxiways.
Vietnam Airlines said it plans to increase frequencies on nearby routes including Ho Chi Minh City to Buon Ma Thuot, Ho Chi Minh City to Pleiku and Danang to Buon Ma Thuot to meet travel demand to Lam Dong during the suspension.
Passengers holding tickets for flights to and from Lam Dong via Lien Khuong Airport between March 4 and August 25, 2026 will be allowed to change their travel date or itinerary once free of charge.
They may also request refunds for tickets and any ancillary services purchased without incurring fees. The support policy will apply until August 31, 2026.
Lien Khuong Airport was upgraded to international status in June 2024. After many years of operation, parts of its infrastructure have deteriorated and require comprehensive repairs to ensure safety and increase capacity.
