The ferry operator announced on June 1 that the vessel returning to service is larger than the one previously used. The high-speed ferry measures more than 52 metres in length, over 10 metres in width and nearly 3.4 metres in height.

The vessel can accommodate up to 527 passengers and offers a range of seating and sleeping options, including VIP and standard classes.

The route operates between Nha Rong-Khanh Hoi Port in central Ho Chi Minh City and the Con Dao Special Zone.

Under the current schedule, departures from Ho Chi Minh City to Con Dao will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, leaving at 6.30 am. Return services from Con Dao to Ho Chi Minh City will run on Tuesdays and Thursdays, departing at 12 pm.

The operator said the journey takes approximately five hours and 15 minutes under favourable weather conditions.

Ticket prices vary according to seating class and travel dates. On weekdays, from Monday to Thursday, standard seats are priced between VND 965,000 and VND 1.125 million (approximately USD 37-43), while sleeping berths cost between VND 975,000 and VND 1.205 million (approximately USD 37-46).

During weekends and public holidays, seat fares range from VND 1.055 million to VND 1.225 million (approximately USD 40-47), while sleeping berths are priced between VND 1.075 million and VND 1.325 million (approximately USD 41-51).

The route was first launched in March 2025 but was suspended shortly afterwards for maintenance and vessel upgrades.

Until now, most travellers from Ho Chi Minh City heading to Con Dao have relied on air services or travelled to Vung Tau before continuing by sea.

The resumption of the direct ferry service is expected to provide residents and tourists with greater travel flexibility while supporting tourism development in Con Dao, the only special administrative zone under Ho Chi Minh City.
