According to the city's Public Transport Management Centre, the metro will operate from 5 am to 10 pm, with 11 trains running 226 trips per day, an increase of six on the current schedule.

Train intervals will range from 7 to 12 minutes during weekdays, while at weekends, nine trains will be in operation with intervals between 8 and 12 minutes.

The line previously operated nine trains daily, completing the journey from Suoi Tien station to Ben Thanh in about 30 minutes.

The increased service is intended to support civil servants and workers commuting from neighbouring Binh Duong Province to the city's administrative centre.

Authorities also encouraged commuters from Binh Duong to use public transport, including bus routes 61-05 and 61-77, which run from the Binh Duong Administrative Centre to the new Mien Dong Bus Station. The terminal is located adjacent to the Ben Thanh-Suoi Tien metro line, offering easy access to the city centre.

As the city's first urban railway, the Ben Thanh-Suoi Tien line stretches nearly 20 kilometres, linking the downtown area with the eastern gateway. The line includes three underground stations and 11 elevated stations and cost more than VND 43,700 billion (approximately USD 1.72 billion). It officially commenced operations in December 2024 and has served over 10 million passengers to date.

In addition to the metro expansion, Ho Chi Minh City has launched free shuttle bus services for civil servants and workers travelling from Binh Duong and Ba Ria-Vung Tau to the city's administrative centre. The service is operated in partnership with Phuong Trang FutaBusline, running three daily trips to and from the city.
