The city will host a large-scale military parade and public procession at 6.30 am on April 30 to commemorate the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day. This high-profile event has triggered a surge in hotel bookings along key parade routes, including Ton Duc Thang, Le Duan, Nguyen Hue, and Nguyen Dinh Chieu streets.
“We began receiving booking requests for rooms with parade views, including cannon salutes, fireworks, and drone shows, as early as late March,” a representative of Renaissance Riverside Saigon Hotel (Ton Duc Thang Street) told Dantri/Dtinews.
“All rooms with direct views, including our Presidential Suite, are fully booked. Only about 15 percent of our rooms remain available for April 30, mainly those without river views,” the representative added. Presidential suites were reportedly reserved early, with nightly rates ranging from VND25 to 40 million (approximately USD1,000-1,600), depending on the timing.
This trend extends beyond the Renaissance. Major hotels in strategic locations such as Sofitel Saigon Plaza (Le Duan Street), Rex Hotel (Nguyen Hue), and Majestic Saigon (Dong Khoi) have also reported being sold out on April 29, especially for rooms overlooking the parade. Presidential suites in these hotels are also fully booked.
Other hotels located along the parade route still have limited availability, but a survey by Dantri/Dtinews found that all rooms offering a parade view are already sold out. Many guests seek a unique holiday experience that blends leisure and national celebrations.
Unable to secure a room with a view, Thanh Loan, from Hanoi, opted for a hotel within walking distance of the parade. “I hoped to enjoy the parade with my family from a high-floor room, but everything was already booked. In the end, experiencing the festive atmosphere directly from the street might be just as memorable,” she said.
According to the organising committee, the parade will begin at Le Duan – Nguyen Binh Khiem intersection, proceed past the main stage in front of the Reunification Palace, and then split into four directions:
Route 1: Nam Ky Khoi Nghia → Le Loi → Nguyen Thi Nghia → Phu Dong Roundabout → Cach Mang Thang 8 → Tao Dan Park
Route 2: Nam Ky Khoi Nghia → Le Thanh Ton → Nguyen Hue → Me Linh Roundabout → Bach Dang Wharf
Route 3: Le Duan → Nam Ky Khoi Nghia → Nguyen Dinh Chieu → Dinh Tien Hoang → Hoa Lu Stadium
Route 4: Nam Ky Khoi Nghia → Hai Ba Trung → Le Van Tam Park
To ensure public access, 20 large LED screens will be set up across central streets. Live broadcasts will also be available on national television and social media platforms.
