From early morning until late afternoon, steady streams of visitors and vehicles have filled the roads running through the village, creating a lively year-end atmosphere.

Inside the orchards, garden owners have been guiding customers through rows of trees to choose either full peach trees or flowering branches for home display.

Growers said the warm and stable weather in recent weeks has helped the trees develop evenly, producing consistent buds and blooms with fresh colour. Many well-shaped trees with dense flowers have already been reserved by customers.

Hoang Anh Tuan, a resident of Tay Ho ward, said his family had kept the tradition of visiting Nhat Tan every year to select peach blossoms for Tet.
“This year the blossoms are opening at exactly the right time, the flowers are very beautiful, and prices are softer than last year,” he said. “In previous years, the branches I bought cost up to VND 1 million (USD 39), but this year they are just over VND 600,000.”

Tran Tuyet Nhung, from Bo De Ward, said Nhat Tan peaches always stand out from those grown elsewhere, so she makes time to visit the gardens in person each year.

“This year I bought two branches to decorate for Tet, costing about VND 2 million,” she said.

Alongside buyers, many residents and young visitors have also been taking advantage of the peak flowering period to visit Nhat Tan for photos, capturing memories in the lead-up to Tet.

Some garden owners have planted chrysanthemums beneath the peach trees, adding colour and creating new photo spots for visitors.

In contrast, the Phu Thuong peach-growing area, located near the foot of Nhat Tan Bridge, has been quieter. Many trees died during floods in late 2025, leaving only a small number of orchards on higher ground still able to maintain peach production.

Several growers in Phu Thuong have turned to other flowers for the Lunar New Year season.

In the final days before Tet, peach blossoms are sold across Hanoi’s streets, from traditional flower markets to major roads, bringing early signs of spring to the capital.
