The two-day festival will open on December 13 on Nguyen Hue Street in Saigon Ward. It is co-organised by Tuoi Tre Newspaper and other associations and departments.

Featuring 30 booths showcasing varieties of pho from across the country and abroad, the event is expected to attract more than 50,000 visitors and serve 20,000 bowls.

Organisers said each bowl will cost VND40,000, with 10 per cent of profits going to people affected by severe flooding in Dak Lak Province.

The festival will also include talk shows, musical performances and live cooking demonstrations.

Organisers are calling on domestic and international pho eateries to mark the Day of Pho on December 12 by offering promotions, sharing local pho stories or promoting the dish globally. These stories will be featured on the festival’s media platforms.

Tran Xuan Toan, deputy editor-in-chief of Tuoi Tre, said the Day of Pho has entered its ninth year since the newspaper initiated the celebration on December 12.

He added that Vietnam Pho festivals held abroad have drawn strong international interest, including 85,000 attendees in Japan in 2023, 28,000 in South Korea in 2024 and 35,000 at the 2025 festival in Singapore.

The event also creates opportunities for Vietnamese exporters of spices, ingredients and food products.

Developed from the annual Day of Pho, the Vietnam Pho Festival will be held in a different country each year. Toan said the festival serves not only as a culinary celebration but also as a platform to promote tourism, trade and investment.
