Dalat orchids are considered a high end flower line and remain popular with consumers during the holiday season.
According to local growers, orchid prices vary by type, ranging from about VND 300,000 (approximately USD 12) to nearly VND 1 million (approximately USD 39) per stem.

Dang Thi Phuong Huyen, owner of an orchid garden on To Hien Thanh Street in Xuan Huong Ward, said preparations for Tet supplies began in early December of the lunar calendar, including intensive care and potting.
“We are now finalising shipments to markets in Hanoi, Phan Thiet and Ho Chi Minh City,” Huyen said.

She noted that orchids offer high economic value and are in strong demand. Depending on customer requirements, cymbidium orchids are arranged in pots with three to seven stems, with prices ranging from VND 3 million to more than VND 5 million (approximately USD 118 to USD 196) per pot.

Nguyen Thi Hong Nga, another orchid producer in Xuan Huong-Dalat Ward, is also busy preparing flowers for sale in Da Lat streets ahead of Tet.

To meet demand for the 2026 Lunar New Year, most orchid gardens in Da Lat have hired additional workers, who typically work from 6 am to 9 pm. Workers responsible for arranging orchids in pots earn between VND 700,000 and VND 1 million per day (approximately USD 27 to USD 39).

According to the Lam Dong Department of Crop Production and Plant Protection, the province has planted about 4,000 hectares of flowers for the 2026 Tet season, with an estimated output of 1.6 billion stems. Key varieties include cymbidium orchids, phalaenopsis orchids, lilies, gerberas, gladiolus and chrysanthemums.
