Thailand’s Bangkok has clinched the top spot as the most coveted destination for Generation Z travelers in 2025, surpassing cities like Melbourne, Cape Town, and New York, according to Time Out’s “World’s Best Cities” list.
While Cape Town secured the overall No. 1 spot, the Thai capital came in second but ranked first for Gen Z thanks to its mix of affordability, vibrant culture, and social appeal. Time Out highlighted Bangkok’s welcoming residents, low cost of living, and rich cultural diversity, from historic temples to bustling shopping districts and nightlife, as key draws,
The city also earned the title of “friendliest city” among respondents under 30, cementing its appeal to younger global tourists.
The Time Out survey polled over 18,500 respondents from cities worldwide.
