Typhoon Yagi knocks over 41,000 trees along Hanoi-Haiphong Highway
Typhoon Yagi uprooted and damaged 41,000 trees along the Hanoi-Haiphong Highway.
The typhoon ravaged many northern localities, including Haiphong, Quang Ninh, Hung Yen, Hai Duong and Hanoi.
The Hanoi-Haiphong Highway links Hanoi and Haiphong City through the Hung Yen and Hai Duong provinces.
According to the Hanoi-Haiphong Expressway Operation and Management Co., Ltd, by September 18, up to 41,000 trees had been damaged along the route, 26,000 broken, and 15,000 uprooted.
The company quickly handled fallen trees that threatened traffic safety but is seeking the Vietnam Road Administration’s opinions on solutions to the remaining damaged trees.
Hanoi had the highest number of trees affected by Typhoon Yagi, with over 40,000 either damaged or uprooted.
