Dantri/Dtinews Newspaper co-operated with the Giao Hang Tiet Kiem Company, and authorities in the central province of Nghe An on the inauguration ceremony for a new school in Tri Le Commune on August 22.

Tri Le 4 Primary School lies in a remote and one of the poorest communes in the mountainous district of Que Phong.

The old school, which was built over 40 years ago, only had some wooden board classrooms. There were no toilets or other functional rooms and the area had no access to electricity, wifi, or tap water. The school also had no female teaching staff.

According to vice headmaster of the school, Tho Ba Sinh, the school currently has 15 classes with 283 students. However, only six classes with 124 students study at the site while the other pupils learn at two other locations due to the difficult roads and a lack of facilities.

The teacher said that most of the people in the area are from the H'mong ethnic group and their lives are very difficult.

After Dantri/Dtinews published a story about Tri Le 4, the Giao Hang Tiet Kiem Company had sent VND400 million to donate for the construction of some new classrooms here through Dantri's Charity Programme.

And thanks to support from other donations and local authorities, Dantri has built some new classrooms at the school with a total investment of nearly VND700 million.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Dantri's Deputy Editor-in-Chief Nguyen Xuan Toan sent his sincere thanks to the Giao Hang Tiet Kiem Company for having worked with the newspaper to carry out this and other school projects.
