Nguyen Thi Minh takes care of her husband
Nguyen Viet Ke is suffering from liver cancer which already spread to other organs. Because of deteriorating health, he has to depend on his wife, Nguyen Thi Minh, for almost everything. Minh's sister-in-law, Nguyen Thi Bong, is blind and can't help much."My husband is always in pain that he can hardly sleep at all. There were many nights I had to stay up to give him a massage," Minh said.
Nguyen Dinh Thao, head of Ngang Noi Village, said, "When Ke was still healthy and worked far away, Minh took care of all housework and Bong on her own. She brought Bong to everywhere she could to treat her eyes but nothing could be done."
Minh keeps telling herself to be brave to continue taking care of her family but she is getting older and weaker with time.
"I wish to have more money to treat my husband and sister-in-law. But I only work on the field and it is just enough for daily meals," she said.
