The USD27,100-bridge, which opened on January 2, is located at Ho Dac Kien Commune, Chau Thanh District.
Dan Tri builds 10th bridge in Soc Trang Province
Huynh Van Quan, a local resident, said that for many years, people in Ho Dac Kien Commune have had to cross an old bridge which had seriously deteriorated.
Nguyen Thi Bay, 88 years old, said that she was very happy to see the new bridge.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, editor-in-chief of Dan Tri Newspaper Pham Huy Hoan, expressed his thanks to the support of the Vietnam Study Promotion Fund and Garment 10 Joint-Stock Company for the bridge construction. He expected that more Dan Tri bridges would be built across the country in the coming time.
Local people happy with the new bridge
Dan Tri and Dau Tu newspapers also gave 50 scholarships worth VND1,000,000 each to outstanding poor students in the locality.
Dan Tri and Dau Tu newspapers also opened a ninth bridge in the southern province of Bac Lieu in October 2015.
