According to Hoang Thi Vuong, head of the Sapa Culture and Information Board, on September 1, Sapa received nearly 17,000 tourists. While the numbers on September 2-3 would reach roughly 50,000 in total.

Vuong added that at present, 95 percent of luxury hotels in Sapa have been booked, while the rate is around 70 percent for cheaper accommodation.
Sapa’s authorities have also set up a steering board to deal with traffic congestion.
Sapa has led the country’s recovery in tourism after the Covid-19 pandemic. In the first quarter of this year, visitor numbers to the town reached just 300,000 people; but since April, the town has seen 1.7 million visitors.
Sapa is currently experiencing cool weather as the rice crop ripens in the locality.
