Work on a riverside pedestrian street in the central city of Danang is being accelerated to ensure the operation scheduled for this week.

Hai Chau District has announced a plan to pilot Bach Dang Pedestrian Street by the Han River from the end of April to late 2028.

Bach Dang Pedestrian Street, located by the western bank of the Han River, was initially slated to be put into use on Reunification Day (April 30) and May Day holidays, but due to the slow pace of construction, it was delayed until May 31.

Bach Dang Pedestrian Street in Hai Chau District is 1.2 kilometres long, connecting Tran Thi Ly and Nguyen Van Troi Bridges with APEC Park.

Under Hai Chau's pilot plan, the bridge will be open from 3 pm to midnight every day until late 2028. Meanwhile, night-time tourism services will also be provided on Nguyen Van Troi Bridge.

The pedestrian street will have mobile stalls, five check-in spots, two public toilets, security cameras, free Wi-Fi, green space, and a lighting system.

One lane on the eastern side of Bach Dang Street will be used from Monday to Thursday for the pedestrianised area.

Vehicles will be prohibited from using the street from Binh Minh 10 Street to APEC Park every Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Bach Dang pedestrian street will diversify Danang's tourism products.
