The service, which uses Vietnamese start-up Selex Motors bikes, will cover passenger transportation, food and other goods delivery.
Customers can use the service by using the Gojek app.
General Director of Gojek Vietnam, Sumit Rathor, said that Selex Motors' vehicles can operate smoothly during heavy rains and floods of up to one metre. They can also travel on sloping roads.
“Our co-operation with Selex Motors will help us serve more customers," he said.
Selex Motors CEO Nguyen Huu Phuoc Nguyen said that Gojek drivers can exchange batteries free of charge within two minutes at over 40 points in HCM City and over 30 points in Hanoi. The motorbikes are also equipped with charging devices and fully charged batteries can work up to 150 km.
"It's important to switch to green transportation as the environment has been threatened by climate change," he added.
The Green Smart Mobility Joint Stock Company – the first taxi service supplier using electric vehicles in Vietnam, also launched a taxi service using VinFast electric motorbikes in Hanoi in August.
