
The funeral service for Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong continued for the second day from 7 am to 12.30 pm on July 26 at three places: the National Funeral House at 5 Tran Thanh Tong Street, Hanoi, the Thong Nhat Conference Hall in HCM City, and the Lai Da Village Communal House in Dong Anh district of Hanoi.
Since early the morning of July 26, long queues have been seen on the streets leading to the National Funeral House at 5 Tran Thanh Tong Street in Hanoi.
Dang Thi Thu Huong, 48, said that she had stayed up through the night on July 25 to wait for her turn to pay her respects to the late party leader.

"Due to the large crowd, I could not come in to pay tribute to General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong before the National Funeral House closed at 11 pm on July 25," she said. " So I decided to stay here until this early morning."
Thousands of people stood orderly in lines stretching for kilometres, waiting for their turn to pay respects to the top party leader.

Many mourners could not hold back their tears when they paid tribute to the respected leader.
The same scene was seen on all the roads leading to the Thong Nhat Conference Hall in HCM City and the Lai Da Village Communal House in Dong Anh District.
In HCM City, although the People's Committee extended the visiting hours to honour the general secretary to 11 pm instead of the previously announced 10 pm on July 25, many people must wait until the morning of July 26 to say the last goodbyes to the leader.

In his hometown in Dong Anh District, many people stayed up through the night on July 25 to wait for their turn to express their respects to the late party leader.
On the morning of July 26, many delegations from different localities and overseas continued to come to pay tribute to General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.

Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong passed away in Hanoi on July 19 at the age of 80 due to his old age and serious illness.
According to the state funeral committee led by State President To Lam, a tribute service for the party leader will be organised at the National Funeral House at 5 Tran Thanh Tong Street in Hanoi from 7 am-10 pm on July 25 and from 7 am-12.30 pm on July 26.
A memorial service will be organised at the National Funeral House at 5 Tran Thanh Tong Street in Hanoi at 1 pm on July 26. And the burial service will be held at 3 pm the same day at Mai Dich Cemetery in Hanoi.
