Before the Covid-19 pandemic, Nha Trang welcomed around 6 million visitors per year with half of them foreigners.
To date, most land plots along Tran Phu Street in Nha Trang have been turned into high-rise buildings that block the sea view.
There is almost no open space between the tall buildings which are built directly next to each other.
Le Minh, a local resident, said that more buildings have been built to serve tourists in Nha Trang, but it would be better for them to be much lower.
Local authorities have been instructed to limit the construction of seafront high-rise buildings along Tran Phu and Pham Van Dong streets. Agencies have been asked to study suitable locations for construction.
