Police in Phuoc Dinh Commune said on July 3 they had worked with relevant agencies to receive the wild animal after it was voluntarily handed over by a local tourism operator.

The macaque unexpectedly appeared on the grounds of Nam Cuong Ecotourism Company, attracting the attention of staff and visitors.

Authorities carried out a health examination and completed the required procedures before releasing the animal into the Tan Giang-Thuan Nam protection forest.

Instead, residents should promptly notify the relevant authorities so the animals can be safely recovered, assessed and returned to suitable natural habitats.
