The seizure was made on July 2 during a joint anti-smuggling operation led by the Customs Investigation and Anti-Smuggling Department, with support from border guards and the coast guard.

Authorities intercepted the vessel after identifying suspicious activity during patrols in the city's waters.
A search found three crew members on board. The captain said the vessel was transporting about 30,000 litres of diesel but was unable to produce invoices or other documents proving the fuel's legal origin.
Authorities have drawn up a report, sealed the vessel and its cargo, and escorted it to the Anti-Smuggling Control Team No. 3's port for further investigation and legal action.
