Tran Ngoc Anh from the park's management board announced on Wednesday that they had just received three rhesus macaques from people in Phong Hoa Commune and Dong Le Town in Tuyen Hoa District.

"Two of them weighing four and five kilos were handed over to us by Nguyen Thanh Phong in Phong Hoa Commune, and another weighing four kilos was sent by Nguyen Van Ngoc in Dong Le Town," the official said. "We're taking care of them while monitoring their health and providing them with some training before releasing them back into the wild."

On June 26, Phong Nha-Ke Bang Park also received a pygmy slow loris, which was handed over by another local man, Le Van Song, in Bo Trach District.

The park said that all those animals were listed in the IB and IIB groups as endangered and critically endangered.
