HCM City will spend VND28 trillion (USD1.1 billion) on the construction of five bridges.

VND11 trillion will be spent on the Can Gio Bridge project, which will be finished in 2028.

The Can Gio Bridge, running across the Soai Rap River, will link Road 15B in Nha Be District and Rung Sac Road in Can Gio District.

Once completed, the project will replace the Binh Khanh Ferry, connecting Can Gio with the centre of HCM City.

Thu Thiem 4 Bridge project will cost VND6.03 trillion. Work on the bridge is slated to begin in 2025 and be completed in 2028.

The 2.16-km bridge will have six lanes, with the main span having a clearance of 45 metres.

The third project is a VND1-trillion pedestrian bridge across the Saigon River. Construction of the 500-metre bridge, located between Ba Son Bridge and Saigon River Tunnel, is expected to begin in May next year.

The city will also invest VND3.7 trillion in the Nguyen Khoai Bridge and its connection road project, which will link the centre and south of HCM City. Work on the bridge is scheduled to kick off by late this year and finish in 2027.

The five-kilometre project will have 2.5 kilometres of bridges and over 2.3 kilometres of road, starting from D1 Road in District 7 and ending at Vo Van Kiet Avenue in downtown District 1.

The Binh Tien bridge and its connection road project will cost around VND6.2 trillion. It will run from District 6 to Binh Chanh District. The project is expected to start by late next year and be completed in 2028.
