According to the Hanoi People’s Committee only around 75 percent of the entire project’s work had been finished by the end of August. This included 96.3 percent of the elevated section.

Site clearance for the elevated section has been completed, but compensation for 177 affected households in Bac Tu Liem District has not yet been settled. Bac Tu Liem District has been urged to co-operate with concerned agencies to deal with the problem.
For underground sections, site clearance is still facing many problems, including compensation for households.
The long Covid-19 pandemic and the readjustments of initial designs and technical requirements have also slowed the project.
Under the recommendation of Hanoi authorities, the project’s total investment needs to be raised to VND34.83 trillion (USD1.49 billion) from VND32.91 trillion due to delays and exchange rate fluctuations. The added capital would be sourced from the state budget.
The Nhon-Hanoi metro line station metro project with financial assistance from the French Government, the French Development Agency and the European Investment Bank has a total length of 12.5 kilometres, running through eight elevated and four underground stations.
