According to the mission, Vietnamese nationals are encouraged to apply for the scholarship to study in a wide range of fields, especially in science and technology.
Established in 1946 and funded by the US Congress, the Fulbright programme aims to advance mutual understanding through academic and cultural exchange. The scholarship covers fees related to tuition, round-trip airfare to the United States, a monthly stipend, and health insurance.
Competition is open to applicants who meet the following minimum criteria: hold Vietnamese citizenship and reside in Vietnam throughout the application and selection process (dual citizenship not permitted); have at least one undergraduate degree; have at least two years of work experience after graduation by the time of their application; and have a valid minimum TOEFL iBT score of 79 or IELTS 6.5 or Duolingo 110 or TOEFL Essentials 8.5.

A complete application package includes an application form, three letters of reference, diplomas and transcripts (including notarized English translations), TOEFL/IELTS/Duolingo/TOEFL Essentials score reports, and a curriculum vitae. The deadline for application submission is 5:00 p.m., April 1, 2025 (Vietnam time).
