Around 1,000 students in Ta Dung Commune, Lam Dong Province, have been ordered to stay home as persistent heavy rain flooded roads and cut off access to several schools.
The Ta Dung Commune People's Committee said on September 10 that students attending satellite campuses of Le Loi Primary School and Hoa Cuc Kindergarten in Dak R'Mang 1 and Dak R'Mang 2 villages would temporarily suspend classes due to severe flooding and transport disruption caused by prolonged rainfall.

According to local authorities, the suspension took effect on September 10 and will remain in place until further notice.
Officials said the measure was necessary to ensure the safety of students, parents and teachers, as several routes leading to the schools had been submerged and travel conditions had become hazardous.
Dak R'Mang 1 and Dak R'Mang 2 villages are home to approximately 1,000 kindergarten and primary school students. Continuous rainfall over recent days has left some areas under about one metre of floodwater.
By the morning of September 10, water levels had begun to recede, although the process was progressing slowly.
The commune administration has instructed school leaders to urgently notify parents and raise awareness about the dangers of floodwaters. Families have been advised not to allow children to cross deeply flooded areas, fast-flowing streams or locations at risk of landslides.
During the closure, schools have been asked to prepare make-up teaching plans to ensure the academic curriculum can be completed as scheduled.
On September 9, the Ta Dung Commune Military Command and local emergency response teams were deployed to heavily flooded areas to assist residents and vehicles crossing dangerous sections of water and to install warning signs in high-risk locations.
