In a press conference on July 15, Vinh said, "Arsenal is one of the top European football clubs and the match tomorrow will give our team unprecedented experience. This will always remain a very special match for me."

After being asked whether the players will feel extra pressure after Arsenal beat Indonesia 7-0 on July 14, Vinh said, "The seven goals Arsenal scored against Indonesia will certainly put some added pressure onto the Vietnamese players, however, they are not scared and will do their very best."

Because results are not important in this friendly match, even coach Hoang Van Phuc feels at ease. In addition, the National Team, which has gathered the best players for the match, hopes to get huge support from Vietnamese fans in the My Dinh Stadium.

Meanwhile, captain Tan Tai was more laid-back and said he was a fan of Dennis Bergkamp's during Bergkamp's magnificent career which came to an end six or seven years ago. He further said he and other players certainly feel honoured to play against Arsenal.

Vice Chairman of Vietnam Football Federation, Nguyen Lan Trung, said Arsenal players have decided to play in yellow uniforms, while the Vietnam team will play in their traditional red colour.
