Hoang Le Khanh Thy was one year old when she was diagnosed with a complicated heart disease. After reading Khanh Thy's file, Nguyen Quang Tuan, director of Hanoi Heart Hospital, sent some staff to help Thy get to Hanoi for heart surgery.
On Sept. 8, Khanh Thy was checked into Hanoi Heart Hospital. The surgery was successfully performed on Sep. 15, bringing a second chance to the girl.
Le Hoang Khanh Ly is recovering well after the surgery.
Khanh Thy's surgery was the first free heart surgery, and was made possible by a VND100 million contribution from Thanh Long Real Corp.
This year the Hanoi Heart Hospital carried out 891 heart procedures, of which 150 cases were sponsored by contributors.
