A father from Son La Province needs financial help to care for his 17-year-old son, who is in critical condition after being electrocuted.

Lu Van Tran's Thai ethnic family works as an agricultural labourer and does odd jobs to supplement its meager income. Tran was painting a house when accidentally stepping onto electricity line.
Tran was transferred from the provincial hospital transferred to Hanoi's Viet-Germany Hospital, then to National Institute of Burns. The doctors had to amputate his left leg and may have to take his right leg as well.
"Please help me, I can't work to help my family anymore," Tran said.

Dr Tran Thi Dieu Hien said, "He has burns to his right rib and part of the chest, so it's a possibility that his lung was affected. He needs many strong antibiotics and albumin transfer which will cost VND10m (USD476) a day. But he doesn't have health insurance."
Tran's father, Lu Van Quang, said the employer gave VND20m, and he is trying to borrow money to keep his son in hospital.
