Fuel prices soar

Retail fuel prices increased at 3 pm today, January 16, following a decision by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Finance.

The price of biofuel E5 RON92 increased by VND320 to VND20,750, while RON95 grew by VND210, VND21,220 per litre.

Diesel prices rose by VND540 to VND19,780 per litre, while kerosene soared by VND460 to VND19,700 per litre. Meanwhile, mazut prices increased by VND1,000 to VND17,180 per kilogramme.

The two ministries decided not to use the Petrol Price Stabilisation Fund.

The price of RON 95 has risen three consecutive times after one decline. Yet, the price has remained at its lowest level for over three years, equal to July 2021. Since the start of 2024, fuel prices have increased 27 times and fallen 27 times. Diesel fuel has seen 25 increases and 28 decreases.
