Fuel prices sharply rise

Retail fuel prices increased at 3 pm today, December 19, following a decision by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Finance.

The price of biofuel E5 RON92 rose by VND380 to VND20,240 per litre, while RON95 increased by VND410 to VND21,000 per litre.

Diesel prices grew by VND480 to VND18,730 per litre, and kerosene increased by VND400 to VND18,960 per litre. Mazut prices also urged by VND330 to VND15,900 per kilo.

The two ministries decided not to use the Petrol Price Stabilisation Fund this time.

The price of RON 95 has risen for two consecutive sessions after a single decrease. However, this fuel price has remained at its lowest level over the past three years and is equal to the price in July 2021.

Since the start of the year, petrol has increased 24 times and declined 26 times, while diesel has risen 22 times and fallen 27 times.
