Heavy rain floods Dalat streets, stalls vehicles

Heavy rain flooded several streets in Dalat on October 4, with water reaching up to one metre and leaving vehicles stranded.

The downpour began at around 3 pm, causing streams to rise and flooding several parts of the city.

In Cam Ly-Dalat Ward, water flowing downstream into To Ngoc Van Stream caused flooding of 20 cm to one metre along the section between La Son Phu Tu and Hai Thuong streets.

In Lam Vien-Dalat Ward, an alley off Nguyen Cong Tru Street was flooded by 40-60 cm, affecting cars and motorbikes. Water levels also rose in Mai Xuan Thuong Stream, flooding nearby roads.

Floodwater also spilled onto Tran Quoc Toan Street near the Dalat Palace Golf Club in Xuan Huong-Dalat Ward, disrupting traffic.

The rain stopped at around 4 pm and floodwaters began to recede. Residents then cleared mud and moved damaged vehicles for repairs.
