The Quang Ninh Provincial Tourism Department announced on Friday that it served 552,000 visitors, including over 362,000 domestic and over 190,000 foreign tourists, in the first week of the 2025 Tet Lunar New Year, which ran from January 25 to 31.
"The tourism sector earned an estimated VND1.52 trillion (USD60.72 million) during the period," the department reported.
On January 31, the third day of Tet, Quang Ninh received 175,000 visitors, an increase of 17 percent compared to the same period last year.
Some of the spots that attracted the biggest number of visitors in Quang Ninh during this Tet holiday included Cua Ong Temple (16,875 tourists), Cai Bau Pagoda (29,000), Yen Tu Tourism Site (12,168), Ha Long Bay (nearly 9,000) and Bach Dang Victory Historic Site (29,000).
Nearly 4,800 international tourists visited Quang Ninh through the Mong Cai International Border Gate during the period.
The province, home to the World Natural Heritage site Ha Long Bay, is expected to welcome approximately 7,000 cruise ship visitors during the nine-day Tet Lunar New Year holiday.

In 2025, Quang Ninh plans to serve roughly 70 cruise ships, carrying around 90,000 passengers, a 1.3-fold increase year-on-year. The cruise ships registered to dock at the port are from renowned global brands, including Mein Schiff 6, Celebrity Solstice, and Costa Serena.
