Located 70 kilometres northwest of Hanoi, Hoa Binh Lake covers 8,000 hectares and extends across the four districts of Da Bac, Mai Chau, Tan Lac, and Cao Phong and Hoa Binh City.
The lake, surrounded by majestic mountain ranges and pristine forests, is home to numerous islands, serene bays, and captivating caves, including Thac Bo and Hoa Tien caves.
Ngoi Hoa Bay is seen as the most beautiful bay in the Hoa Binh Lake area, surrounded by limestone mountains and lush forests.
Taking a boat ride and admiring the large and small islands are among the most fascinating experiences for visitors to the lake.
Many homestays and resorts are nestled around the lake, offering visitors a chance to immerse themselves in the natural beauty of the area.
Visitors also have an opportunity to enjoy local specialties such as dishes made with shrimp and fish caught by local residents from the Da River and Hoa Binh Lake.
According to the Hoa Binh Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, the province served 2.6 million visitors in the first half of this year, up 9.9 percent on-year, fulfilling 61.9 percent of the annual target.
During the period, the province’s tourism sector earned a revenue of VND2.689 trillion, up 29.8 percent on-year, achieving 58.5 percent of the yearly plan.
Luu Huy Linh, Deputy Director of the Hoa Binh Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, stated that the province is focused on transforming the Hoa Binh Lake area into a national tourist destination. Efforts are underway, including upgrading infrastructure such as roads, electricity, water supply, and sanitation.
The province is calling investors to develop high-quality tourism products in the area.
Linh added that the number of tourists to Hoa Binh Lake has been on the rise on weekends.
