The event was attended by representatives from Vietnam’s navy force, border guard, customs, and maritime administration, and US scholars and experts.
Vietnam Marine Police Commissioner, Major General Nguyen Van Tuong, stressed the urgent need to promote safety and security at sea, especially when popular economic activities are taking place more frequently and becoming more complicated.
The workshop offered relevant agencies a good chance to share opinions and draw experience from foreign experts. It aimed to promote peace-keeping in territorial waters and ensure that activities take place in accordance with Vietnam’s laws and international treaties and practices.
