
They are poor workers who have recorded outstanding achievements at work. They have also not returned to their hometown for Tet for many years.
The flight departed from Tan Son Nhat International Airport in HCM City and landed at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi on January 29.
All the tickets were sponsored by national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines.
Tran Thi Hanh, a worker from Phong Thai Ltd. Co., said that over the past four years, her family’s income had been seriously affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. So they could not return home for Tet. She was very happy to be given a free return ticket home. This was also the first time her family had flown.
Twenty more workers in Binh Duong Province will be provided with free air tickets to go home for Tet in the days to come.
The Vietnam General Confederation of Labour has co-operated with Binh Duong to organise free trains to take 1,450 workers home for Tet.
Meanwhile, agencies and units in Binh Duong have donated 3,500 bus coaches for workers to return home for Tet.
