The project, which has a total investment capital of VND875 billion (USD35.71 million), covers 10 hectares in Thuan An Ward, Long My Town.
The ground breaking ceremony of the project
The plan is designed to consume around 110,00 tonnes of husk per year and is scheduled to become operational in the fourth quarter of 2024.
Once put into use, it is expected to generate roughly 125GWh/year for the Mekong Delta region.
At the ground-breaking ceremony, Nguyen Van Hoa, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, asked local concerned agencies to closely co-operate to support the project’s implementation.
The husk-fueled power plant will contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and using agricultural waste as a clean source of fuel, aiming to promote clean energy and gradually replace coal, moving toward sustainable development.
