Construction on Tan Son Nhat International Airport Terminal 3 project kicks off on December 24.

The VND10.90 trillion (USD457.98 million) project invested by the Airports Corporation of Vietnam was scheduled to be started in late 2021, but delayed land handover slowed the work.

ACV planned to put the project into use in September 2024.

Terminal 3 would serve around 20 million passengers per year and is expected to help raise Tan Son Nhat International Airport’s annual passenger capacity to 50 million per year.

Work on a road linking Tran Quoc Hoan and Cong Hoa streets in Tan Binh District also started on Saturday. The six-lane road with a total investment capital of VND4.8 trillion is among projects to ease traffic congestion around Tan Son Nhat International Airport area.

The road is slated to be completed in September 2024 like Terminal 3.
