The planned Phu Thuong Park lies along the Red River floodplain near key transport corridors including Ring Road 3, Thang Long Bridge and An Duong Vuong Road.

The nearly 20-hectare riverside park, located near Thang Long Bridge, is being developed as a standalone project separated from the broader Red River landscape boulevard scheme.

The project has an estimated investment of VND 1.7 trillion (USD 67 million) and is expected to create a large public green space combining ecological, cultural and historical features.

According to the plan, the park will include riverside landscape zones, bamboo gardens, flower parks, camping areas, community spaces and a central square with a musical fountain.

Construction machinery and workers were carrying out initial works in late May, including land levelling, drainage installation and embankment construction along the Red River.

However, parts of the project site remain occupied by temporary factories, residential structures, farming plots and material storage yards, while site clearance has yet to be completed..

At present, the dirt road running through residential areas and workshops into the project site is badly degraded and turns muddy whenever it rains.

At the site in the final days of May, heavy machinery, vehicles and workers were carrying out the first construction items of the park.

Part of the project is undergoing land levelling, drainage culvert installation and embankment construction along the Red River.

Once completed, the park is expected to serve as a major green space linking Hanoi’s urban areas with the Red River ecosystem.
