At the police station, Phuc, 34, said that she decided to kill one of her sons after quarrelling with her husband.
According to the woman, she lived with her husband and their two sons in a rented house in Thuan An City, Binh Duong Province. She was upset after quarrelling with her husband and decided to kill their small son and then commit suicide.
On the early morning of December 12, Phuc used a pillow to suffocate her child who was sleeping with her until he died. She then tried to kill herself by cutting her wrist with a knife but her husband who was sleeping in the next room heard the noise and came in to prevent her.
The man took his wife and child to the hospital but the child had already died while the woman suffered slight injuries.
Police are further investigating the case.
