The weapons have been relocated to a military zone for controlled detonation.
Quang Tri is hardest hit by bombs and mines in Vietnam. Bombs, mines and unexploded ordnance (UXO) have caused casualties to 8,584 people in Quang Tri since 1975, including 3,363 deaths. Children under 16 years old accounted for 31 percent of the total casualties, according to a report by the provincial Mine Action Centre.
Quang Tri aims to become the first province in Vietnam to be safe from UXO by 2025.
Around 80 bullets from the American War were also found in a garden in Quang Tri in July last year.
