Construction work for the temporary hospital, which was located at a local school, started on February 9 with the participation of more than 300 military officers, the committee said, adding that it will be operated by the Vinh Phuc Provincial General Hospital.

On Monday, the first makeshift hospital in Ho Chi Minh City that has 300 beds was also put into operation to treat novel coronavirus patients.

Vietnam confirmed the 14th nCoV infection case on February 9 including nine from Vinh Phuc Province according to the Ministry of Health.

The newly-detected patient, a 55-year-old woman, is a neighbour of the 23-year-old worker in Vinh Phuc Province who had also transmitted the virus to her mother, younger sister and aunt after returning from a training course in China's Wuhan City in mid-January. She paid a visit to the infected worker’s home on January 28 during the Lunar New Year holiday. She was among those who had close contact with the confirmed patient and has been closely monitored since then by the provincial disease control centre. She showed symptoms of fever, headache and blocked nose on February 4. She was then brought to a clinic in Binh Xuyen District, Vinh Phuc Province, for quarantine, check-up and treatment.

On February 10, three more nCoV patients in Vinh Phuc were released from hospital after being treated at the Hanoi-based General Hospital for Tropical Diseases, raising the number of successful treatment cases to six nationwide.
